Restoration of the Montpellier Bandstand
In 1994 Cheltenham Civic Society initiated the restoration of the Bandstand, which was first built in 1856 and is one of the oldest, if not the oldest in the country.
Following its restoration, the Friends of Montpellier Bandstand and Gardens was established, and since then the Friends have played a significant role in the development of the gardens’ restoration management plan and contributed many volunteer hours.

The Montpellier Bandstand can be found in the centre of Montpellier Gardens, close to the Garden Café and the Gardens Gallery.
