Campaigns

Cheltenham Civic Society campaigns on a variety of issues impacting our urban environment, the town’s heritage and its ongoing vitality.

As well as long-running campaigns to improve our highways and both the quality and upkeep of our public realm, our current campaigns – see the pages under our Campaigns menu heading – also include lobbying to secure the most beneficial redevelopment of the Cavendish House site, and fundraising for a new historical map for Cheltenham to be produced by The Heritage Towns Trust.

Whenever possible, the Society works closely with both Cheltenham Borough Council and Cheltenham BID to support appropriate evolution of the town centre (such as changes of use for some buildings) and to encourage investors and landlords to do more to improve the look of any vacant properties they control.

Volunteers needed

As the Civic Society is run purely by the voluntary efforts of its members and supporters, perhaps you could offer some of your time to help run one of our campaign projects?

If you are interested in  one or more of our campaigns and can offer some of your time, please email Andrew Booton on: chair@cheltcivicsoc.org

Or if you could help to organise some of our events, please email Sarah Harvey:  hods@cheltcivicsoc.org

And if you can write well and would like to contribute articles for OurTown or pen news releases on current issues, please email Steve Bryson on: comms@cheltcivicsoc.org
